New iron recommendations 2018

Decided to bite the bullet an buy new irons. After a disaster of a year the easiest solution is to throw money at the problem. I've never been fitted so I booked into foregolf to see how it works. I play off 13 having gone out the way last year. Had a great year the previous year using Taylor made mc (2011) but changed to Wilson fg tours v2 as the shaft felt softer. I like the look but was told at American golf fitting that I was spinning my 7 iron too much causing it to be short.
I tried the mizuno jpx 919 forged they were nice but the amount of the jpx 900 irons I see in golf shops has me worried I'd hate to buy a set I don't love.
So any recommendations forged irons preferably?

I have the mizuno mp18 sc. great club, lovely feel and look the part.

Their DNA tool returned project x 6.0 and i went standard loft and lie.

I don't think the jpx900 would be a bad club. seen a few shops doing 4-pw in them for €475

they're probably more forgiving as you would think, actually i now wish i went blade in 8 - pw.
They also have the mmc and mmc fli hi from 6 upwards so can add forgiveness at the top end of your bag if needed.

Not easy to find but Srixon irons are fantastic to hit, easy to mix and match your set from the blades to cavity

I was passing Birr today and it just happened Michael was available for a fitting. I hit the mizuno jpx forged I hit them well but the head looked huge. I then tried the tour head of the same range I hit them well also but I hate the finish on them. So I hit the srixon 785 beautiful club and got the KBS c taper shaft lovely ball flight and the numbers looked good. Not as long as the jpx but the distance control was 10 times better. I had 86mph as and spinning 6k plus getting 155yds. I am cutting across 6degrees but with a 2deg flatter lie and a 1/4" shorter should help me. It was a very nice experience not pushing me in and direction I didn't want to go. I was happy. The main deciding factor was the price 800 all in with midsize grips. Sorry foregolf maybe next time.

I got the MP18s earlier this year (sc 4-7), couldn't recommend them enough.
I was on a trackman trying AP2s when he brought down these and as soon as I hit one I was sold. Had been playing a blended Titleist 716 set and these definitely feel more forgiving on off centre hits, and really fly when you catch them out of the middle.

Just keep an eye out if your getting them, Mizuno irons 'standard length' isn't the same as other manufacturers, i.e. mine are +1/2in but they're actually the same as Taylormade. I believe the lofts are also different, so I had mine bent to standard also, just worth noting.

I found the head to be too large even on the tour model compared to the Srixon Z785.

Do you mind me asking the cost.

I got the Wilson V6 Irons this year and really like the look and feel of them. I think they are good value for money compared to similar clubs
