We had an internal agitation cover that was so rotten we decided to replace it. However, The replacement cover sits almost 2 inches above the concrete slat. Is this a danger for cattle? Is there anyway I could take off the sharp edge?

Maybe put a small slope of concrete up to it???? Like 4 inches or so wide. Wide enough so that if it came away from it, it wouldn't fall through the slats

I've only seen covers that were like short metal slats themselves that hinge up and out of the opening. You seem to have something different.

That sounds like a very poorly fitted replacement! Did whoever you buy it from come out and look at the old one and measure it up? Any replacement cover I've seen only sit about 5mm over the slat. If you paid the likes of 400e which is the going rate for a replacement cover then I'd be definitely going back to whoever you got them off.
