Does anyone have experience of using this number? My parents were billed for this and they have no recollection of making this call.

Prepare for some funny responses, consider moving this post, have you googled the number?

    This should be good.

Scammers pretending/duping people into thinking they are a service related to the Irish Revenue.

Report it to your phone company and bank and demand a refund/chargeback, and the number blocked.

This is their (the scammers) website.

Demand? Not really the phone company’s fault that they dialed the number. I’d ask nicely instead.

    Well yes, politeness works too.

Usually these calls happen due to returning miscalls. Phone companies are usually sound when such a scenario happens and you get tricked into calling a number.

Thats only if you ring the number back, plus most companies have a geographical number to avoid such premium rate charges.

OP says the parents have no recollection of ringing it. Wonder what his/hers is.

    :pac:

It's amazing companies like this can operate out in the open.

It does say that it's not affiliated with Revenue and the charges are clearly outlined but I don't see how it could possibly be argued that the site isn't specifically designed to trick people into using their 'premium connection service'.

Looked at the website and was fully expecting a dodge Chinese registration but nope, US call solution company....

It's only the most expensive prefix, Dana isn't going to settle for a spartan altar.

Thanks everyone for the advice and information. This is exactly what happened. It was a tax related phone call.
