Farm tax return - gates and posts

I'm doing my dad's tax returns and he got some gates and posts this year for the farm. Can these be considered as expenses and if so do these come under 'repairs' or 'other' in the Expenses part of the Form 11 tax return?

Replacing gates/posts I would normally consider to be repairs/maintenance.
