    Hi,

Hope someone can recommend a plumber in Limerick, to service a Dimplex System 30, installed 7 years ago. It is working perfectly and, until this year, was maintained by Bord Gais. I moved toElectric Ireland who don’t maintain this model. (Had I known this, I wouldn’t have moved.) My main concern is someone who is prepared to fix it,should it fail, I’m happy to take responsibility to order parts myself, should that prove necessary. The boilor is simply in too good nick to pull out, after 7 years.

I’ve talked to three plumbers, all of whom want to upsell me a new boiler, without even looking at my current one. I’ve been told that it is an “experimental model”, has a plastic heat exchanger (that was by the Electric Ireland plumber), is utterly unreliable and cannot be repaired.

The Bord Gais guy knew the boiler inside out. He said that the heat exchanger was stainless steel and was better than most models. He said the only issue was that spares were becoming scarce as the model was discontinued. However spares are still available from the Uk, and Bord Gais had no issue with renewing the maintenance contract, other than that I left them.
