So a few weeks back i rang to get the FUP removed as per instructions from the eir reps on here.
Once done i suddenly had 3 active connections on my eir page, i got no confirmation from eir that the FUP was removed apart from the operator on the line telling me so but nothing in writing.
Since then i rang and was told yes indeed the FUP was removed also a rep on here confirmed same via a private message but again nothing in writing or anything official.

I set out to go over the 1TB cap so i will know for sure the FUP is gone from my account.
While checking my usage tonight this is what is showing on my eir,, seriously what the hell is going on?

Whats this about order status ? order number, i ordered nothing.
eir fibre  3 times 1 active 2 not,, a few days ago it was 3 active, this 3 active came about after i rang to get the FUP removed.

Its all very confusing, absolutely crazy setup.

When i rang to get the FUP removed i was told they had to change my account for 24 hours then out me back on normal one to activate the FUP being dropped, it all seems very strange to me.

Can someone in eir please tell me whats going on with this ?

    Hi Dcully,

Unfortunately systematically it isn't as easy as we would like to change from capped to FUP therefore a temporary amendment needs to be made on the account to change the plan.

This will in no way effect your account however this is the only way we can process this. It was also one of the reasons we experienced a delay in offering this to existing customers rather than new customers only as we needed to trial the most effective way of changing this.

We do not issue letters in writing when you are moved to FUP as your contract has not changed therefore this isn't something we could provide you with from here other than confirming that the change over has in fact taken place.

    Thanks,

    Sarah

    Lol....this company are absolutely useless.
I think I need to look into other options.
I am not renewing if this is the likely scenario.

same thing happened on my account I just put it down to Eirs weird systems and ignored it as my bills are correct

Thing is after they said the removed the FUP i was billed  2 euros odd for this change which is fine, then last month that same €2 was my monthly bill????
Now this month its €103 ,, im hoping its their mesup of not billing me properly last month but still doesnt amount to €103 for 2 months because my monthly bill is usually €47...
Im out of contract and swore id leave eir but the alternatives in terms of customer care are just as bad,,,, seriously at times im like fcuk this country and all the dodgy and corrupt companies/politicians ,,,,,

    Im fuming over this crap.

I had to ask the wife to ring customer care tonight as im sick to the teeth of it all but she was left sitting for 50 mins with no joy only to be cut off.
Im so close to just blocking my direct debit and going elsewhere.

    Sorry to here that.

I did try to warn you and others about the pitfalls of asking Eir to remove the cap.

I know man but what other option do we have if we want to get FUP removed?also  im not in a new contract im still out of contract.
The rest of the operators are as bad, i had a nightmare with sky when they first arrived on these shores, they made 3 accounts for me charging me triple every month took about 7 months to get sorted.

Did you get an answer to this yet Dcully?
I'm still living with the FUP as I still don't think it's safe to call them about having it removed.

See this thread on how to get to talk to somebody:

    https://www.boards.ie/ttfthread/2057924065

    1. Go the Comreg site and click on "Queries & Complaints". https://www.comreg.ie/queries-complaints.
    2. Click on got a question. There's an option there to start a WebChat, but this wasn't working on Friday, so I just filled in the on-line form and laid out the facts, as I saw them.
    3. When that was done, I then went to the eir Complaints page - https://www.eir.ie/complaints, clicked on "Log a Complaint" tab and clicked on the option to send an email.

Yes waited 90 mins to talk to someone this day last week and they said it was a double month bill as the month i got the FUP removed i wasnt charged for which is fine.
They confirmed i had no FUP and still not locked into any contract.
