    Hi there
I’m starting a self build in the next few weeks and am considering ICF construction method over full full cavity. Would love to hear from anyone who has gone down this route and can offer advice on whether it’s a worth while option. Cheers.

When you say starting ? Do you mean design drawings?

Have been granted planning so I mean starting construction. Trying to achieve an airtight house so I’m thinking ICF might be a better option

have you analysed if this means of construction can achieve compliance with Part L?
what wall U value does your preliminary Part L report require?

    https://forum.buildhub.org.uk/forum/56-insulated-concrete-formwork-icf/

It's an English forum -buildhub.org.uk -for self builders to help others -although be mindful that their buildings regs are different - it should at least give you an general overview to get you started.
Then you can speak with your engineer with an idea of what you're looking to achieve in your new build.

you will need to do detailed tender drawings showing everything including the envelope 1:5 details and clearly defined Preformance spec & scope, as above the BER needs to be consider before this pack is completed.

Where ICF fails is where details are not considered at design stage.
