Are these wines still drinkable?

My partner was given a McPherson Rosé from 2004 and Old Git from 2001. They were in an old pub. They're unopened so should they be ok to drink? Thanks in advance for your help.

Impossible to say really...

If they are screwcaps they should be ok.
If they are cork it would all depend on whether they were stored correctly, and you won't know until you open it.
If it smells ok then it should drink the same.

The rosé is a screwcap but the other one is corked. I guess I'll know by smell or taste. Since they were in a pub I presume they were stored correctly.

Most pubs store wine incorrectly, i.e. standing up. Cork doesn't stay moist and air can get in.

It's probably not going to be great. Pubs tend to stock pretty bog standard wine (especially 14-17 years ago) and these are not meant for aging. As mentioned, it's probably been stored upright and with fluctuating temperatures but only one way to find out.

It's not a pretentious wine snob thing to detect if it's corked, you'll know! It may smell musty or vinegary. If it tastes like wet cardboard or fizzes your sour taste buds it's corked. Safe to test it out and see for yourself.

Forgot to update this sorry. On opening the wine smell was non existent. Both were discoloured so I didn't bother drinking them.
