Skoda kodiak sportline auto vs Kia Sorento k3 manual

Left to decide between these 2 cars for value and currently have Kia Sorento and can’t complain. Skoda kodiak is fairly new to market but seems to be decent value so just wondering if anyone has any concrete opinions or reasons to favour either.
Which will hold value better in 2 or 3 years time

I'd be going with the Skodiaq - seems to have great reviews and the spec is pretty nice

Is the Sorrento not a good deal more dirty on car tax? If so that will hurt come resale compared to the Kodiak.

The emissions are the problem with the Kia. I had two of them over the years and road tax etc. was a downside.

Great cars but the older engine tech is being surpassed by Skoda and other manufacturers. Notice they (Kia) offer slightly smaller wheels than the competition, (17-18) this is another attempt to keep the VRT and taxes down and keep them in the game.

Hyundai, from the same stable, with same engines, don't even mention the 0-60 for the new Santa Fe because it is so far out from most of the competition.

I’m a Kia fan but the Kodiaq is a fantastic car.

Looks like they are good value. Has anyone else had a problem with the Skoda Configurator ? Don't know whether it's my computer or the website but I can't see an image of the car when I try to build one...? It used to work fine .

Which do you think will depreciate more though. We plan to change to adapted car in 2-3 years and the Skoda is slightly cheaper at the minute, maybe 1000€ and we also getting better trade in offer from Kia though as we trading in Sorento. So pretty much even enough although Kia priced above 48 and skodiak 46.

The Kodiaq is selling by itself so they’re not doing discounted finance and they’re not going to give a high value trade in. If that demand wanes then things might change but I don’t see that happening in the next couple of years so you could be splitting hairs really.

Get the car that suits your needs best, if I was betting I personally would see the Skoda having stronger residuals.
