Behaviours you abhor.... but which you are guilty of yourself

There is a particular, terrible, and offensive word. I despise it. I hate when people use it. And yet, I use it myself, albeit with only my closest friend, and in my head.

I can't understand how and why I can detest a word so much and yet still use it myself.

Is there any behaviour or language which you despise / detest, yet which you are guilty of yourself?

I hate people being passive-aggressive to me (or anyone), but I have an awful tendency to be passive-aggressive myself at times. I hate that about myself.

    I'm working on it.

    Moaning.

When I hear myself moan I cringe - its definitely something I need to work on to eradicate.

    Cynicism and sarcasm.

I'm better at keeping sarcasm away, only indulge once in a while, but I do get cynical in spite of my efforts to avoid it.

edit : disclaimer : prior to shark week anything goes, unbridled and with glee. There's a dispensation for that.

Not having the courage of my convictions . Am great at listening and advising others on how to do x,y,z .
Applying the same advice to myself and carrying it out is another story .

Nail biting. If somebody in my company did it I'd probably be disgusted yet I'm always at it

That's usually when my passive-aggressive streak shows itself. I don't even notice until it's too late and I've let myself down. :(

This made me think of another one ..

Beating ourselves up over something we've said or behaviour that we would more than likely accept from someone else .

    I'm a complete Hypocrite

My child is at a big dance music festival today

And I gave it the whole pipe and slippers routine before she left

    Little does she know

I was going to thank the posts I agree with but I think I'd get a blister on my thumb.

I'll probably stop reading this thread now because I am slowly realising what a horrible annoying human I must be

    Procrastinating.

Hate when people put stuff on the long finger when it affects me. But I am guilty of doing it at times too.

You're not a horrible person , you're just human like the rest of us , with our own quibbles and traits .

Well thank you for that. I was actually being a little tongue in cheek but it's much appreciated all the same. I probably should have used a smiley in hindsight :)

I think the worst is when someone is drunk but youre sober and having to listen to them!! But then when you've had a few drinks , you start yapping on! Obviously then youre making total sense :)
