DPF shenannigans?

I'm suss about a car I just bought secondhand. 2 days later it had "check anti pollution system" light which rapidly became a "Stop! Engine failure" light. The dealer suggested I drive it hard to start a DPF regen. Did this - nothing changed. Took it back and he got it "reprogrammed" whatever that means. No errors since.

I'm just worried that there might be a DPF issue that's being hidden by a sensor being disabled. Is this a thing? If so any checks I can do? 2012 scenic dci.

If is not a main renault dealer then yes worry...

If the dpf is only lightly "blocked" then some cleaner in the fuel and computer forced regen cycle can resolve, but if that does not, its take off and have it specialist cleaned or new one. I would check which of above they did.

If neither, then likely they have disabled the pressure sensor by programing or tampering with the sensor, to make the lights go out. Find someone with a decent scanner and see what back pressure is (should move up and down slightly as you dive and normal level can be found on the web), what soot level is, and when last Regen ran, or similar data Renault stores in the ecu - that will give you some idea if its fixed or not.
