Looking at the pictures it's hard to imagine anyone survived. Landing on a car park post match doesn't bode well too, hopefully that was empty at least.

It was a staff car park so hopefully they were all still in the ground.

They'll be in the ground soon.

Sky Sports News reporter Rob Dorsett said the helicopter took off from the pitch, as it does after every game.

He said that after a few seconds it appeared to lose control and crashed into the car park just a few hundred metres away.
    Not looking good... :(

    There's always one.

Pictures look bad for whoever was in the helicopter but given that probably less than an hour earlier thousands of people would have been exiting the stadium this could have been a disaster.

Hopefully all got out before the fire in the video really took hold.
    Tragic stuff.

They were just joking about the chopper taking off in the background on sky a few weeks ago . Awful to hear the bad news especially when many like myself use football to escape from the sh1te you hear every day going on in the news

BT Sport were on air at the stadium when the helicopter was getting ready to take off and they too had a little light hearted dig at it.
Between this and Glenn Hoddle falling seriously ill in their studio before going on air it's been a tough day for bt.

    This too shall pass.

Not outraged, just surprised that the sentiment is towards a faceless organisation as opposed to the lives lost/wide reaching health implications etc.....

I'm open to being corrected by the poster but I really doubt it was sentiment and just an off the cuff remark.

Fair enough. Still surprised about the sentiment so soon after the events etc.1

Has there been a report anywhere of who was on board ? Seems strange to me that it hasn't come out by now, like it's being purposely held back for some reason ? (I mean other than the obvious, waiting until family is informed etc) Shocker all the same.

No reports as to who WAS on board, but there has been specific mention that vice-chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha and director of football Jon Rudkin were NOT on board, which is interesting.

Rumours going around from different sources of both Puel and Southgate(who was in attendance) as having been on board as well as Vichai, his wife and daughters. Southgate rumour I think stems from him having taken a lift back to London when attending a previous Leicester fixture.

Think you are right about the family thing. Again, no confirmation of anything as of yet, just speculation.

A bbc newsreader said Puel "might" be on board which is a very silly thing to be saying.

If it's the same clip I saw I think it was said in a real blasé manner which makes me hope it was simply a mistake on her part.

Either that or she let slip something that is being kept under wraps til morning :(

Yeah the second bit is what I'd be worried about.

If anyone got out alive it would be reported by now. Also ambulances were leaving the scene without sirens/lights on. I was hoping for any sort of good news when I woke up but I’d say everyone on board has died and even a couple of people on the ground too.

Ya if there was any positive news it would have been reported by now. Unfortunately they are just looking to indentify who was on it now.

That's what I was thinking alright, bodies need to be identified then families told. Might take some time.

BBC sports editor Dan Roan caught on camera at the crash site gossiping about those who died.

    Unprofessional disrespectful smug git.

The tail on those ones is plastic, the first of them melted their own tail sometimes from the heat of the exhaust when they were under heavy load and a crosswind :( .......... was cured though
