I would agree with this but most men are not like that by nature, it's seen as a weakness

I find if a woman is bending the ear off you the only remedy is to put your hand down your pants, have a good scratch and then a 5 second sniff of the hand Joachim Low style. She'll generally stay a good 5 metres from you unless she's into the whole crotch sniffing thing in which case ask her on a date.

Nope they haven't and they don't. That idea came from a book - IIRC the Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus one. A book chock full of inaccuracies and invention. The book was a best seller and that stat has been repeated in further books and in the media since. It also gained favour in areas like counselling, especially relationship counselling.

Actual studies have shown that men and women use roughly the same number of words per day. Men showed slightly more vocabulary than women and the biggest yapper and the near mute were nearly always men. Men tended more towards talking about things, while women tended more towards talking about people. All told though, individuals may suffer from verbal diarrhoea or verbal constipation, but it's not based on gender.
