Renewing expired licence

    My driving licence expired a year ago. I was not able to renew it do to being away.

    Now, will I have to account to NDLS why I did not renew in time? It is embarrassing for me to have to explain I was in prison.

    You can renew up to ten years after it expires(or 5 for a learner).

    They have no need no ask. They have no right to ask. They dont care.

    They must get loads of people with out of date licences.

    OP probably has/had another account but is too embarrassed to link this post to that account as it will lead to people who would have seen this comment going through his post history.

    OP, if you are within the timeframe mentioned above, 5 years for a learner permit or 10 years for a full licence just head into the NDLS and renew it.

    The fact you were in prison is no one’s business but yours and the relevant authorities. Don’t have to explain yourself to anyone else.
