Walk into your local shop, restaurant, sports club, bar or anywhere else and ask if they are hiring, that you're a good lad/lady, hard working, punctual, etc and see what happens.

Other than that, ask your parents/guardians to ask on your behalf. They might know someone in the local area who'd be willing to give you a few hours in the evenings/weekends for minimum wage

Join your local Facebook page. I notice a lot of my local cafes and small shops advertise this way. Your best bet is to walk around your local village or town and drop CVs into shops, chippers and cafes. Dress well and be polite.

Also if you're not very confident, particularly talking to older people, maybe practice a few sentences in advance. Along the lines of:

'Hi, my name's [yourname]. I'm currently looking for part-time work and was wondering if you were hiring at the moment. I have a CV with me if you don't mind passing it on to the manager.'

(I say this because I used to get very anxious or mumbly in situations like that where I had to talk to strangers, so it couldn't hurt!)

When I was your age I worked in the local McDonalds. I also worked in a local flower shop. So you should visit all the businesses in your area and explain your situation.

No one will expect you to have a proper CV, but you should make a little one pager. It could be something like this:

    > Your address
    > Date

    > Dear Sir/Madam

    > My name is [Your Name]. I am a [5th year student or whatever] at [your school]. I am looking for a part-time job, between the dates of [October or whatever] and [June or whatever]. I will be available full-time during the summer months and during my school holidays.

    > I do not have any previous experience, however I am reliable and willing to work hard. I would appreciate it if you could consider me for any role in your company.

    > You can reach me at [Your phone] any time.

    > Thank you for considering my application.

    > Your truly

    > [Your name]

    Hopefully you get the idea.
