Im annoyed with myself for adding another political thread to the current situation, but this one was too interesting to pass up

    http://www.thejournal.ie/ff-northern-ireland-4306151-Oct2018/

Fianna Fáil have finally put the speculation of the last years to bed and announced a candidate is going to stand for elections in the 6. Could this be a game changer? It's hard to know and the party themselves don't seem to be sure with a spokesman later saying the announcement wasn't correct and they are still in talks with the SDLP.

Imo Id be surprised if we see any budge from the unionist side, I'm not sure FF offers them anything particularly interesting and if anything it might cause further entrenchment of the DUP vote, with Brexit coming and all that entails it could be seen as a further threat to the Union, FF after all do call themselves the republican party and are running an ex-SF candidate. How will they markwt themselves to unionists and the not so bothered I wonder? the first main effect anyway will be a division of the Nationalist vote and a weakening of SF, and I'm also very curious what their response will be.

Looks like official FF are still denying it, it would be funny to see another split

The UUP tried the same with the conservatives and it didn't end well. Then again the SDLP don't have that far to fall...

Indeed, and you'd think FF themselves would recognise that
