Heating control with thermostat.

Hi. Looking for some advice. My mother has oil fired central heating. It is controlled using an old style timer/control in her sitting room where she spends her day. She never uses the timer part, just pushes up the two switches and the heating comes on and then switches off when she feels it's hot enough. Problem is that since she got her walls and attic insulated the room is often overheating before she realises and then turns it off. I was thinking it would be good to add some sort of temperature control in the sitting room so as it goes off and on when the temperature drops/rises. Is there something suitable, maybe a replacement switch/control with built in thermostat (no need for a timer as she wouldn't use it)?
