I'm getting ready to lay a driveway + new garage. in south Dublin.

    I'm going for 35n strength

The total amount needed is going to be 17m3 & I need it delivered in 2 phases, the first being 5m3 with the balance a few weeks later.

Quotes so far works out at about €140 per m3 incl VAT

(that's just delivery, no pump etc.)

This is a long distance from what I had thought it was gonna be.

is €140 per m3 really the current cost for delivery of concrete to a suburban Dublin address these days??

I would have thought it would be cheaper but I know nothing of Dublin prices.

I'm in south Kerry and got the minimum 3 meter order delivered from 18 miles away and it cost 330 euro including vat.

The driver grabbed a rake too and gave me a hand for a while.

Where you getting that price from? Direct from a supplier or a man with his own Lorry?

Think minimum order from the likes of Kilsaran is 4m3 you would want to try plan so you only have 3 loads max over the 2 pours

its not Kilsaran. I don't want to say whom but it's from a well known crowd, good rep, who are better on smaller loads. But for that money I would want the driver to jump in and help!

my problem is because of the nature of the job itself I have to go with the split as is, there's structural to be done first before I can shutter up for the second pour.

tomorrow I'm going to try an experiment...call as a different customer with a different address within 10 mile and see where that goes. Also I'm going to maybe look at getting a separate quote for the larger 2nd pour.

Jaysus and I thought concrete was dear down here in west cork. Neighbour put down 80 cu m back in April. Prices for 40N was from 79 to 85 plus VAT. A third crowd who have a huge business wouldn't bother ringing back. Deal done for 76pluus VAT from a crowd with plant almost 18 miles away.

    can anyone help, please?
    I'm close to starting building a ( Dry Storage Shed 40 x 20 ) &
Step 2 will be a 2/3 Bay Slatted House.
The Dry Shed looks like a Ready Mix of circa 20 m cubed. ( Probably 30 N ) No grant.
Can someone please give me an idea as to what might be the best price per cubic meter excluding the Vat?
If any recommendations on steel Suppliers I would be grateful as it's a big undertaking for a Suckler Farm.

Would you be better sticking this in the farming and forestry section, prob more similar sheds being done there.
