Im on a mission, i have replaced my scuzzy white esb meter box with a nice new steel black one and id like to do the same with my two cable meter boxes and my gas meter box.

These are the cable boxes, gas one is a bit bigger and seems to be metal not plastic

Would plasti dip do it, or better try get them vinyl wrapped (and who would do a small job like this?)

Erm... Just spray paint them normally.

Why would you wrap them or plasti dip.

Get a proper etch primer first, particularly for the plastic box. Once you have a couple of coats of that on, use the spray paint of your choosing to colour the boxes.

Etch primer is for metal ? It contains acid and is NOT for use on plastic only on bare metal and not zinc.oe galvanised
Lightly sand to etch the surface and then spray with two coats of plastic primer
    Wet sand
    Spray with plastic primer
    Very light wet sand
    Two coats of black satin
    Light sand
    Cost of black satin
    Job done

Maybe we're differing in terminology then - there are etch primers for hard plastics too - for example, this.

Etch primer is an acid based paint that eats (etches) into bare metal
That link shows a primer that would possaibly work but is not ideal

That’s a better product for plastics
