Typo in imported car model number

My partner imported a 2008 Honda civic hatchback a few ago and I noticed on the vrt receipt that it said 'Honda civic 1.4 se+ I Sdi' instead of SE + I DSI

Sdi doesnt even exist as a model option, so this seems to be a typo on the vrt system, if you go onto the vrt calculator you also see this incorrect sdi as option. Googling Honda sdi brings up some really old cars that were diesels and this is petrol.

We were worried that it might affect insurance or resale etc, so partner went back to nct vrt office and told them and they put in an amendment request to Shannon, and they said do not tax the car until we call you to confirm amendment has been made.

We followed up a few times, they said it can take up to 10 days, last Friday was 10 days so we called in again and they said Shannon was closed on Fridays but that they checked and it was in the queue but not picked up by Shannon yet.

They said again do not tax the car as it will cause the wrong vlc cert to be issued and mess everything up.

Car tell incorrectly shows sdi now, we can't nct until we get vlc, which we can't get until its taxed.

This Friday will be 3 weeks, has anyone else been in same situation? Did the amendment eventually get processed and changed?

Should we sit tight and wait?

It doesn’t make a jot of difference

Will it not cause constant hassle for the future, ringing insurance companies for quotes, if the car sold on again etc?

Cartell for example shows the incorrect model now and will concern potential buyers in future

Nope. Can’t see it being an issue at all.

It’s revenue that you need to contact as they registered the car and Shannon take their vehicle Descriptions from revenue.

My golf gti shows up on the systems as a golf gti pirelli edition.
The pirelli has 230bhp to mines 200 .
Hasnt been an issue ever or made a difference to quotes so I wouldn't worry too much.

We'll wait another few days and then just tax it if we don't hear from them.I thought it was a really big issue if they didn't match.

just as an update before taxing car for the first time I called Shannon as a last shot and got a very helpful woman on the phone. She said to post in a copy of the uk VLC (luckily i'd taken a copy), that was on a Friday evening.

Posted it that evening and she called me at 11am on the Monday and confirmed the errors were corrected. Taxed it on Tuesday and the VLC came out with correct details. Woman in shannon said they had rang revenue and worked with them to get the amendment made.

Never heard a thing from the NCT office so they obviously don't give a crap about fixing mistakes they have made...
