Clio is a class down but a good deal cheaper and from what I have read drives really well. The i30 gets mixed reviews for ride comfort, steering and clutch feel.

The Clio is a bit old now and is being replaced early next year with a brand new model. Would you consider a petrol Megane?

Interesting suggestion, the criteria are petrol sub £13, and as nearly new with good warranty. So yes, the Megane is a good option.

Just make sure the car is >6 months old as well as >6000km on the clock otherwise you will be liable for VAT here along with VRT.
