Theres a very popular paint in america for painting fireplace brick balled brick-anew. Our fireplace has the same brick as the one on the left. typical red brick and needs some livening up.

Is there a similar paint here that would do same job as one on the right? Thats painted with that brick-anew paint from the states.

I actually was looking into this recently as had a red brick fireplace, now granted I have a stove so didn't really need to worry about it getting dirty but I could not find a suitable heat resistant paint other than black or white and I wanted a grey.

In the end after reading a few older posts from people who had done it previously I used ordinary exterior masonry paint. The first few fires I lit I kept small but have it finished now about 2 months and have had blazing fires going with no problems.

I figured it was worth the risk as I hated the red brick and would have changed the fireplace completely if the paint didn't work but happy with it so far.

thats very nice. And yes, exactly that but in grey. Pinterest has us demented. thanks.

I suppose if you have to go over it every couple of years its not too bad, ordinary masonry paint isnt too expensive.
