    long story short

    I'm a single dad of 2 ( both under 8 ) never married also

now my ex ( kids mother ) gets Childrens allowance , and she gets single parent tax credits ( pays slightly less tax )

but apparently you can only claim for 1 kid and you have to be the principle carer of said kid

now we co-parent , 1 week i have them 4 days and next week 3 days

both pay childcare costs , both buy own clothes etc ( no maintenence agreement ) as we get on very well and share costs of stuff like school clothes , books , fee's

can i claim these credits also ? as i'm paying out as much as she is and both of us working full time
