Replacement oven

Single oven, 10 years old or a little more - Electrolux - has given up the ghost. Charring on the top insulation makes me want to replace rather than repair!

So, am I right in suggesting any other single oven will fit the cavity? They're all the same size?

Looking like Power city is best for value in the 400 euro region, they have a Zanussi, Electrolux and a Samsung to choose from so we'll be happy enough with one of those, I think. Any thoughts or advice gratefully received, of course!

    Yeah, they're a standard size.

Zanussi is owned by Electrolux, so would be similar. The Electrolux, I am assuming, has the catalytic liners? Are these on the Zanussi too? Personally, I'd go Electrolux again, having Electrolux as all my appliances (for the past 10 years too, as it happens - hope they keep going another while :D).

Also worth noting, that the manufacturer warranty (I realise that consumer rights trump warranties, but to some extent, I think a longer warranty is handier than having the hassle of approaching the dealer, should something happen) on Zanussi is only a year, whereas it's 2 years on Electrolux.

I don't have much knowledge of Samsung ovens in recent years, so can't really say much.

Electrolux is a Swedish multinational home appliance manufacturer, and Zanussi was Italian home appliance company that was purchased by Electrolux in 1984. That means Electrolux owns Zanussi. On the contrary, if you talk about Samsung, then I don't know how much worth it is in manufacturing home appliances. Breville and BLACK+DECKER are the top companies that are selling the best ovens.

I never knew black and decker even did domestic appliances...

My 2 cent worth, you just want a basic oven.. Then avoid the fancy but probably unnecessary features (which are what will break),
Ask about parts for it (mainly the element)
My 10 year old cheapo broke last year, I was browsing for a new oven, but the lads sold me a 20 euro element that fixed it... Then noise (the fan) and insulation (energy rating)

Just spotted, that review is for mini countertop ovens... Not normal full size built in ones..

Electrolux is an Italian home appliance manufacturers, and Zanussi was Swedish home appliance company ...
Wrong way round, Zanussi are Italian, and Electrolux are Swedish.

That is the point. I was trying to say smart ovens are almost performing all tasks of master size ovens then isn't better to go with small size ones?
