Hi guys what cable should an electrician be using to wire up a hob and oven? 4 6 or 10 square? What’s the current regs?

Electrician is wants to use them on the same switch. This will require 3 joints as well as the switch is that safe? (The kitchen is being moved around)

I was going to insist on running a new cable for one of them and no joints on the cable other than the switch. This will be difficult as it’s an old house so getting to the board won’t be easy.

    Any help greatly appreciated!

Depends on lots of factors, mainly load size and length of cable run.

Generally not considered good practice to join a cable such as this.
Again depends on a few factors.
