    Hi there,

Have been contacted about an interesting opportunity in Swords Co. Dublin and mulling it over seriously. Dont drive so would need to be able to access via reliable public transport. Have school age daughter, myself and partner so looking for relatively decent area but couldnt pay €2k a month rent tbh. Do we have any realistic options? I am not familiar with the location at all All suggestions welcome. Thanks in advance.

Theres a few 2beds for around 1450-1700. Still expensive I know but a good bit below 2k. If you want a 3bed house in Swords then you probably are looking at 2k.

If you looked in Balbriggan or Drogheda you'd probably get something cheaper and there's bus services between them. Balbriggan has a Dublini Bus or Bus Eireann option I think, Drogheda would by BE or maybe some provate operators too.

Thanks for the response. I had a look at prices and just said no to the opportunity. Prices are about double what I'd consider fair at the minute anywhere in Dublin. Would be very much on the breadline.

There are some private buses running from Drogheda, Laytown and the like were the rent would be cheaper.

Matthews buses don't stop in Swords as far as I know.

There are very few options for commuting to Swords.

From Balbriggan, Skerries, Rush by Dublin Bus route 33 to City Centre via Swords OR train to Malahide then Dublin Bus route 102 to Swords.

From Oldtown, Naul, Ballyboughal by Nifti to Swords

Any bus eireann bus coming from Drogheda/Dundalk will leave you outside Swords. Anywhere North along the M1/N1 basically for about 50 miles is commutable to Swords by public transport FFS.
