Trees knocked by recent storms

Six trees knocked by a recent storm, a mix of beech and ash. Just wondering how to get rid of it, am happy to give it all away for free. I have no use for it and it would be great firewood once dried out. Too much work in it for me and I don’t have the time to spend chopping it up etc. Any advice?

Is always someone local that does a sideline in selling firewood no matter what part of the country you're in. Try them and see if they are interested in buying as it is. Make sure they are insured before you strike any kind of deal. Is there good access to where they have fallen? If now it might be worth your while pulling them out with the tractor to some place accessible. Beech and ash should bring good money regardless. Personally I'd be very slow giving away or selling ash.

Getting someone to leave it tidy afterwards might be a bigger problem. I'd say there'd be loads of lads happy to take out the easy stuff

What is the ash used for other than firewood?

    Hurleys.

There was a fella done for robbing trees for hurleys a while back. In Kilkenny maybe. And most of it has to be imported now. Someone might be delighted with an Ash tree.

    Where are you ?

Knocked trees along road last February. A lot of hard work getting them cut up and place tidy

Thanks for the replies. I read retired the trees as there was a lot of interest when they were going for free. I agree here is a lot of work chopping them up etc hence the reason to advertise them. Unfortunately the ash tree snapped a little up from the base so it may not be suitable for Making hurleys.

I meant to say I removed the original ad as a lot were interested when they were going for free. Predictive text misworded my previous reply!

Whereabouts are these? I'd happily give ya a few quid for them, chop them and take it away. Place be spotless after too :)
