I have a basically brand new Alpinist that I am contemplating moving on.still have box and original tags and straps. Do people think it will continue to increase in price or is there a point it will hit a ceiling.

A European based one sold for 590 last week.

Whoever spent 590 must have been ill informed or a shill.

    Available on Amazon for 450euro.

I presume you mean the sarb017 btw?

Hard to know future value, if I did I would be rich.

Most appreciating Seikos are either firsts or something stand out that people really want, it helps if they were expensive compared to other similar items at the time.

Like the pogue, the 62mas, MK1 monsters (a really Marmite watch when it arrived, now almost iconic, driving the demand) etc.

So I guess the sarb017 with it's green dial (Seikos most famous green dial? Probably) is in a similar vein to the monsters, as it's something quite different to usual Seikos but there are an incredible amount still available... You'll be waiting a long time before the price goes up a lot.

That watch needs to be imported still at that price. The Alpinist is indeed the 017. Thanks for the reply. Might throw it up for sale in the near future so see what I get, have my eye on a getting a vintage omega and this will help a lot towards getting one

Bought a SARB 035 in Japan for ¥45000 minus the tax it worked out at about €340. I have seen people ask €600+ on eBay, which is just silly.

There is Sarb017 for €700/€800 on ebay too which is nonsense.

I won't ever sell my 035 so I don't mind what prices they are.

All alpinist 017 are imported, they are a JDM watch. That one on Amazon is from a EU seller, there will be no more import tax to pay.
