Plastering a small area of internal wall

I recently took off tiles in a room and it removed the plaster right down to the plaster board. I want to replaster so it is flush with the existing plaster, about 2 or 3mm thick. I have to cover around 4m2.

I have a bucket of premixed gtec smartmix extra, but it's a compound for tape and join areas. Could I get away with skimming this over the area or do i need something else? What do I need to do to make a go at this? Can I get anything premixed?

    Thanks

you can try pro-fin premixed bonding compound. Its quite easy to apply and will sand ok. But if your looking to paint it and want a nice finish in all honesty your better off getting a plaster in to skim it. Do you have any other walls ceilings that need doing also? it mightn't be that expensive.

Are you going to re-tile or want a plaster finish?

you tube great hints there . seems they're all using the joint finisher for skimming now[on you tube anyway] if you can get it smooth enough it's very easy to sand.
