Advice on jobs to go for

    Hi all,

I’m changing career. I’ve been working as an accountant in funds industry for last 20 years. I’ve handed in notice as I can’t stick current place and plan to leave by end of the year.

I’m starting an online masters in property next year. This is my passion and what I’ve decided to do. Id like to start my own business eventually but not for 2 years. As I’ll need to dedicate about 20 hours a week to the masters I’m looking to move into a 3 day week job. There are no part time jobs in my current industry.

Property related jobs will be hard to get without the qualification I will be doing.

I’m willing to pretty much look at anything part time regardless of pay. As with the masters and young family I’d find it hard to balance full time work. Any suggestions welcome.

Maybe with your previous finance history, a bank would be happy to employ you part-time in their call centre?

It's 5 days a week, but only 4 hours a day. Maybe this could work? <snip>

EDIT: Stupid website doesn't allow linking to their jobs. Go to the PTSB website and look at their careers section. Their call centre are looking for staff.

Must be plenty of small Accounting forms who are looking for paper time workers.
