Outlander v Leaf or alternative???

First message of many I imagine. I am hoping to be changing car sometime next year and have read a lot of information on Boards about different options. My commute is going to increase from 40km per day to 80km per day and I am trying to figure out how best to reduce the cost while doing the right thing and going electric or hybrid.

The two options I am looking at the moment are the Outlander and the Leaf. Budget I imagine will be about 17k, maybe a small bit higher. I like the new model Leaf and if that was the choice I would wait for a second hand one to come on the market within my budget (possibly 2020 then) BUT I also like the Outlander as it ticks a lot of boxes for lifestyle choice. Plenty of space for dogs, kayaking etc. I imagine if it was the Outlander it would have to be a 3 year old car (by the time I buy 2016 model). What sort of warranty do the Outlander hybrids come with? Specifically if I buy an import from NI or the UK is there any warranty at all as I have read somewhere here that the UK cars are being offloaded here due to the battery warranties expiring.

All help and information is appreciated.

The Outlander has a five year warranty. The warranty could be voided if the car isn't serviced according to the standard schedule, so you'd want to check that.

Don't know about the transferability of the warranty from the UK, ask Mitsubishi Ireland.
