    Hi,

Looking to get a loader for my case 885xl.

    Saw one here: https://www.donedeal.ie/view/19506387

Never had one before and know zero about their install and use.

Is it fairly straightforward (I’m pretty handy with tractors/car) to install? Is the model shown above a good one or should I look for something else?

    Thanks in advance!

If you're going to be carrying heavy stuff at all, I'd recommend one that's braced back to the back axle as I've seen the bell housing to crack from loader use. After that, you'll have choices around joystick control, self levelling, euro headstock and 'soft ride' suspension, all good to have depending on what you can afford or what you come across

Apart from the hydraulics, fitting is mostly straightforward lift and grunt stuff. There are two dummy plates fitted between the cab and transmission that are taken out and replaced by the loader bracket. Hydraulic valve chest is usually all on the loader brackets with cable controls in to the cab. After that, all you have to sus is where to connect flow and return on the tractor. Someone here will have an answer on that when you get that far

Some lads plumb older loaders on to the tractor spools instead of a separate valve chest but you're in to budget stuff there and it's very easy to knock CaseIH spools into 'dump' mode potentially dumping a bale of silage on to the road. Stay away if possible

Make sure to get the jacks / stands for taking off the loader
