As far as I know it's not recommended to dose and dip on the same day. Might be an old wivesv tale though.

Routine worm dosing of mature ewes is not recommended as far as I know.Fluke dose ok.
Normal stomach worms should have no real effect on ewes.Only ones dosed here would be hoggets and maybe the odd very dirty one or perhaps a thin non thriving ewe.Think its best to worn dose ewes just after lambing if you really need to as this is when they would be under the most pressure.

Have you done an FEC on them?
Last one here showed high worm count in lambs,no fluke though. Will test ewes a bit later in the year but nothing showed up in any ewes in the factory this year.

Advice from vet (dosing company one ,not my own) is to dose sheep esp.ewes as little as possible and only after ascertaining whether they actually need it.That goes for fluke as well ie not to routinely dose ewes for fluke unless they need it.Rumen fluke became a news item a few years ago but its actual occurance was rare it seems.

i think myself there is far to many farmers dosing
and no need for it at all land building up resistance
would only dose here now fec results and report
back from factory would have good belief in cobalt
    though

Would try and have all my dosing done with the ewes before this stage don't like dosing so close till mating so they get a fluke dose 4 weeks before mating.... and get a worm dose before lambing starts if needed from fecal samples... think dosing shouldn't be done before dipping but ok on same day after dipping if you don't mind getting wet.

How soon should you dose before putting the ram in?

Neighbour dosed his ewes this year with ivomec the same day as he put the ram in!

Never dose adult sheep here, only for fluke in winter, is it a mineral dose your using? Should be no need to dose ewes with ivormec super at tipping time

Going dosing all ewes and dry hoggetts tomorrow, has been a great backend but in last few weeks we had torrential rain a few nights so grazing ground is wet enough, last dosed 7 weeks ago. Will give them all a Vitamin dose as well.
