Samsung S7: SD card is fine but phone has stopped reading it

I've a 128 GB card in my Samsung S7. Suddenly I found I couldn't write to it. So I tried unmounting then mounting it. After this, the folders on the card show up as 0 bytes icons (which I can't drill down into it). The card itself shows as still almost full as before.

When I inserted the card into a Windows PC, I could read it fine and even did a chkdsk on it with no errors.

Any idea what might have happened here?

    P.
