Windscreen Replacement

Unfortunately, yesterday my windscreen got hit by a stone that a tractor sent flying. It started as a small crack but by the time I got home, it's now a line down the glass so will likely have to be replaced.

I emailed AAA windscreens to get a quote (€210). Has anyone used this company before? Or has anyone any recommendations (I'm in the North West)?

Would your insurance not cover this? Most have windscreen cover.

No, unfortunately not. The companies covering it were quoting 3/4 grand for their policies at the time.

Give Autoglass a call for a quote. They don't have any depots up your direction but I think they send someone out.

Turns out that Autoglass is more expensive and open less time. I'll go with AAA and see how it goes!

Make sure they replace any trims and let them know you are fussy, increased wind noise is not uncommon with replaced screens.

Give you insurance company a bell anyway they may be able to get their crowd that do it at the rate they charge the insurance company.

    I will do, thanks!

I rang them yesterday, but unless I was putting it through as a claim, they couldn't help.
