Hi, I'm looking at a car from right price cars in bluebell, they seem to be associated with kylemore cars who have terrible reviews. I done a cartell check and it seems to be legit, the previous owner only had the car for 10 months though , there is only 70k miles on it for a 2008. Which is possible, Ive only done less than 20k in 4 years on my current car. The service history is filled out but that could be faked I guess, it seems genuinne enough but I'm being cautious. Has anyone had dealings with right price cars before, is it just a branch of kylemore cars operating under a new name.

Bought a Mondeo off them in 2015, the clutch and flywheel went in it within 2 months. To be fair to them they replaced it but under duress and never provided a receipt or or poof of work.

Car has been a nightmare though, it had a badly refurbed engine in it and has cost us an arm and keg with repairs the past 3 years. We refurbed the engine ourselves this year at a cost of 2k. Probably would have junked the car by now but it suits our needs and we like it.

    These threads are puzzling tbh.

Does it really matter that much what sort of rep a dealer has if the car in question is really good?

If you don't know much about cars yourself the dealers reputation is of paramount importance.

I’d avoid all dealers located in Bluebell. You just don’t need the hassle if anything goes wrong.

Yes, dealers within a stones throw of the Naas Road are to be avoided like the plague in general.

Right Price cars have been around years and years.

Seems like their model is to buy loads of stuff, give it a wash, and sell it for small mark up on top of what it cost. Not clearing the same level of profit as most dealers, but doing enough volume to make it all worthwhile. You may get lucky with a car, you may be unlucky - depends on how the previous driver looked after the car.

Most certainly they aren't a fly by night company who'll dissolve if there's any issues, like many around that area are.

Never dealt with them from a buying perspective, but they used to buy a lot of cars where I used to work and I've met the big boss man a lot of times.

I think it would be important if you are reliant on that dealer to honor the warranty they give you with the car.

I bought my Civic there a few years ago.

They were good, the salesman wasn't pushy, he entertained my haggling, I was looking at a couple of similar cars with them on the day and it was a ****ty day so they brought all the cars indoors and left me alone with them to look at them. The few bits I asked for were done when I went to pick the car up.

They did put 6 months warranty on the car but I never needed it. To be fair though I'd echo the above, they are high volume sellers and they don't really know the cars backgrounds so I'd buy any car from them on its own merits. Some cars have poor reliability no matter who they are bought from.

I'd certainly consider buying from them again.

This place is long established. The area is renowned for fly by night ops but I've bought cars without any issues from 2 garages still going. Due to its location a myriad of motor related services / low rent lots etc its very tempting for any operator to set up shop good or bad.

Not sure why you are puzzled! The op was looking for feedback and peace of mind before handing over thousands for car. Simple enough to understand!

Why does the Naas rd garages have such a bad name?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,017 ✭✭✭Four Phucs Ache

    Central location.
    Not far from port.
Multiple motor related services such as repair/ services/ motor factors/specialists in gearbox/bodywork etc
    Industrial units
    Rents are OK

Think of it as a food court in a shopping centre.
Some may have bright lights and appealing deals with a funky new name but when you dig in to your meal you wish you went with the whopper with cheese from a brand with no messing.

A lot of hamsters in one cage etc.....one or two are gonna be biters etc etc etc

Thanks for all the replys to this thread, I think I will give them a miss, I'm not confident enough to hand over that amount for something I'm not sure about.

Well a few have been fronts for some of Dublerlins most upstanding elements. I doubt they care too much about the quality. Mind you I'd not be shocked to learn they never actually sell any cars to the general public!
