Transfer apprenticeship years from abroad?

I've been trying to put together a CV to find work in Ireland. My resume includes an abandoned degree (had to drop out after 2-3 years of intense study, I don't have a diploma, but I can produce a document saying I attended and passed X Y Z course with X grade etc), an internship and 2 serious jobs.

I've worked with an electrician for over a year, as a helper/assistant. I know more than a first year apprentice (because of the degree), but I can't prove it. I was paid under the table too, but I can get the guy to vouch for me if I have to (sign a document or something).

I've also been a network technicians assistant at my uni's IT department for several months, part time.

I've also got a months worth of paid internship in an irrelevant sector.

So looking back, the only real transferable skills I have right now is the electricians experience and the network tech experience. So this begs the question:

Can I start working as an electricians assistant for more than the impossible 6€/hour? (which is what first year apprentices are paid)
Is it possible that I can skip the first year altogether because of my work experience? Or at least paid minimum wage? (I'm over 25 if that counts)
I can't afford to live on apprenticeship rates right now.

If you have any other suggestions on work I could take you're welcome to mention them.

Edit: Forgot to mention that I'm not Irish.

Contact your local Education and Training Board(ETB)
Ask to talk to the Senior Training Advisor, responsible for electrical apprentices in the region.
You might be eligible for exemptions in some cases, I know people have had to sit the assessments e.g. sit all the Phase 2 Theory and Practical tests and then become registered in second year if they successfully pass.
The advisor will be able to tell you better.

Thanks for the answer, I'll give them a call and find out.
