A lad told me that it was chaos at the one in Cavan, very long queues and waiting times.
Dont know if this is true or not.

I'm hoping they might roll it out around the country. Athenry was a bit too far for me.

There was lads from clare at it. An awful trek for them in all fairness. We had a 12x6 trailer full and there was over 3 tonne in it. Savage weight in them really

Would most still not have use on the pits or is it a case so many have switched to bales?

If I want tyres for my pit, am I allowed to get them? Is it illegal to put them on a silage pit? Don't mean to be stupid.

Did I read somewhere that u have to register that u have Tyres for covering silage.any info great

You can keep enough for your silage pit. The reason they got strict about it was, there were a few cowboys storing thousands of them for garages rather than properly disposing of them.
Quick google there - you're allowed keep 5 tyres per m2 of silage cover.

Likely to be introduced some time soon. I see that if you have a horse you now must register your horse premises. More baloney. Will Tipp Co. Co. have to do this. Even though no horses are chipped and therefore don't actually exist on paper. Ahem....

I have no tyres and am hoping to put down a slab. Will garages just give me tyres or go I have to do paperwork? I assume they would be happy for me to drop in a trailer if need be,

Garages pay to get rid of them, so don't pay for them. Better to check them all too for protruding wire. Don't know if there is paperwork involved nowadays.

I have a couple of thousand tyres if you're looking, no paperwork involved
