Politicians on banknotes - good or bad idea?

Over in the UK a proposal has been mooted to put Maggie Thatcher on the next edition of £50 note to be issued, but apparently it has polarised opinion and from looking at a Digitalspy forum, has deeply divided posters with most being opposed.

If we we still had the punt, would you be comfortable if the Central Bank put the mugs of Bertie Ahern or Charlie Haughey on a £50 note? Or David Drumm or Seanie Fitzpatrick on the £500 and £1000 notes respectively?

The Brits hardly use £50 notes so it won’t matter much at all
