At what point do you have to pay tax on investments? Up to 1000 you pay no tax on dividends right.? Then with regard to shares , say they raise by €1000 do I have to pay tax on that ? Also how does revenue know you have share holdings like how would they find it out?

Wrong. There’s no untaxed dividends. https://www.noonecasey.ie/guide-to-irish-tax/taxation-of-dividends/

The first 1270 is tax free for CGT then normal CGT rate after.

They’re the revenue, that’s how they find out.
