Does anyone know how many days of paid holiday is a person who worked 48 weeks in a year entitled to?
This person 4 weeks was on medical cert.
Does still have 20 paid days - or 11 worked months x 1,67 days = 18 paid days?
    Thanks in advance.

Annual leave accrues over sick leave the same as work.

    Depends on your contract

No it doesn't, _Brian is correct.

An employee’s annual statutory leave entitlement continues to build up during a period of certified sick leave.

People need to remember that an employer cannot use a clause in a contract to negate an employees statutory rights, even if the employee signs the contract, the statutory rights supersede the contract.

Thank you for all answers :)

    One similar question:
If person works 50 weeks in a year ( resigned the job in third week of December) is still entitled to 20 days paid holiday?

It depends when the end date is. If you finished exactly after 50 weeks, then pro-rated, that would be just over 19 days.

Really? we are specifically not allowed sick days in work, If we go sick, we dont get paid, cert or not and it goes onto our record to be broght up during 6 monthly probation meetings regardless of how many years you have been working there.

I think we're talking slightly different things here. You're not entitled to be paid for a sick pay, but while you're off, you accrue sick leave.

For example, if you were off sick for 4 weeks, you'd still build up your annual leave entitlement during that time. You wouldn't have your annual leave entitlement reduced by a day and a half because you weren't in work.

Regular sick leave is something that most companies would keep an eye on. It doesn't imply that you're taking the piss or faking it, but ultimately if you're not able to do your job because you're sick regularly, then that's something they want to track.
