Holiday hours crisis

Hi guys. The place I work in has a fairly informal holiday booking system. It's really up to ourselves to monitor what we have taken. I'm in the unfortunate position that I'm already over my allocation. I'll be more than a week over by the time Christmas is done

I don't want to go into next year's allocation. Can I request that my salary is docked, ie I work a week for free? Is there any reason that an employer can't do this?

    Thanks in advance

There's no reason they can't give you a week's unpaid leave. You should discuss it with them.

Depends on the company. Ours won’t let you draw from next years days, and they just dock your wages in the final week of the year. It’s a f*cker at Christmas and New Year if you’ve gone overboard on the annual leave.

    This isn't a crisis.

Just talk to your manager and work something out.

I know it's not a crisis, the tongue in cheek maybe got lost in translation.

Done, but seemingly it needs to be checked to see if there is any difficulty it could cause.

Can they not just take the days you have taken over your entitlement off your salary?
