Started this new thread to add a poll (thanks bedlam for the help) to get an idea for dates that would suit everyone.I just put these dates down as an idea, feel free to suggest dates/days that would be better. This is my first time organizing something like this so i hope it all goes well:o

Would it be better on a weekday or weekend? was doing research into the last one think it took place on a Wednesday(anyone who was at the last one could PM me any details that would be great).

As mentioned in the last thread it will take place in the city centre as i think it will suit most people, details will then be sent via PM.

Really look forward to this, definitely going to make it happen:)

    Thanks all.

    Two most important things*

    1) Boy/girl
    2) What birth year 2018 watch did you buy or going to buy as a present for 18th, 21st or 25th birthday?

    *not in order of importance

Just wanted to give a update,Called some places in the city centre to get an idea of what would be a good day for a meetup.Wednesday seems to be the quietest,Sunday does be really busy.I was saying around 10 people as i am not sure of the numbers, don't seem to be able to reserve for that amount.

Also thanks to Homer in the last thread for the information,i emailed McGonigle watches to see if it would be possible for someone to attend, looking into calling other places to try and get someone like John McGonigle to attend, not sure how to go about that or if its a good idea.

I think Wednesday would be best, around 7pm.Possibly 7th or 14th November.Let me know what you think as if people cannot make it i can come back to this next year.

Just to share some pictures from the meet up,Huge Thank You to Homer for taking the time to meet up with me and share some of his collection of really great watches.Really had a great time and great to finally meet someone on here.

Really sorry about the organisation as i wasn't really sure how to go about it.I know the time didn't suit most people and it was short notice and i am still new around here.Hope someone with more experience organizes another one as i really enjoyed talking to someone with the same interest.

    Thank You.

Was it just the two of you?
Would be interested in a buy/sell swap meeting if any interest.

Sorry to miss this, in fact I've missed them all for various reasons over the years. Will make it my business to make the Christmas one if it goes ahead.. and homer has agreed to be the desi driver that night :)

Irishplayer fair play for getting the ball rolling again.

Well done IrishPlayer, bet I'm not the only one that's sorry I couldn't make it. The week between christmas and new year can be a good time for a gettogether. But let's face it, we are a small community.

As long as its not the 29th December as I'm getting married this day.

She might not like me nipping out for an hour two after the speeches to look at watches

But then again she knew what she was letting herself in to

Thinly veiled "I'm getting a new watch from the misses on the 29th of Dec"

Who doesn't love a wedding gift of a watch :)

There was nothing thin about it...

You're getting me this watch :D:D:D

P.S. This was the watch I was enquiring about when I first posted on this board. Since then I bought Steinharts, Seikos, Omegas and Longines and not the original Tag I first wanted.

I think it's fitting that she gets me something I really wanted as a wedding present

Annoyed I missed that now. Couldn't get out if work in time. How was it in the bar? Would just off a hotel lobby be a good spot for the next one? Quite with the option of getting drinks? Well done IrishPlayer! Really hope I can make the next one!

It was okay at the bar,but it wasn't ideal as it was little busy to be having watches out.I was not aware of the regular spot and kinda just picked it.I am sure the next one will be done better using the regular spot.

Two cool watches. That's a collection, one watch is a collection as far as I'm concerned.
