Cost of building bay windows

    Hi all,

We are putting up a side two-storey extension and are looking at having bay windows both downstairs and upstairs as an option to allow more space in the rooms. The decision on whether to have them or not will ultimately come down to cost though. Would anyone know how much more expensive is to build a bay window as opposed to a normal window? We live in a city.

    Thanks in advance!

    K.

well you may not get planning for them
In any event that are more difficult to get right thermally etc

I'm not worried about not getting permissions for them as our neighbour (semi ditached house) has them as well. This is one of the reasons we have decided to add them to our plan (to be more in line with the neighbour's house etc). And also other neigbours in the same road were granted permissions to build them.

Re thermal issues, I can see your point alright.
