    Hi folks
My tiviar (openvix) keeps turning itself off. I can’t tie down a pattern.

Has any one had the same issue? Any ideas?

    Thanks

Is it a “blue screen” or just a normal shutdown?

I had a few blue screens but haven’t had any after updating all the software packages. I also had a problem with unwanted shutdowns when I enabled HDMI CEC. I never got to the bottom of it as I set up the Tiviar remote to also control the Tv.

HDMI CEC is enabled. Box goes right into standby, TV goes off. Amp stays on.

I was thinking of the Tiviar was mistakenly sensing CEC sleep commands

You could try disabling HDMI CEC, and see if the problem goes away.

There is also a plugin, HdmiTest, which allows you to send commands to the tv and monitor responses.

By any chance are you a customer of Eir broadband and if so is your box or TV connected to the broadband. I have numerous people phoning me about their Smart TVs and boxes turning on and off since the Eir problem last Saturday.

    Thanks NCM, worth a shot.

Navarre, no, I'm with Vodafone, who had their own connectivity problems at the weekend in Munster.
