I asked the same question recently regarding AM aerial but got no reply.I went ahead and ordered the Tecsun an200 on Amazon. It was delivered today approx 2 weeks later for approx 20 euro. Will report back on it over next day or two.

Depends on what you want to listen to.

At the simplest level, AM reception can be improved greatly by slinging a simple length of wire out of the window and croc-clipping it on to the telescopic antenna of the radio.
From there, you can look at making a more dedicated set-up, either indoors or outdoors. Indoor antennas can be a simple wire again, but arranged in a loop around your ceiling or under the carpet, bordering the room. Or you could make a proper loop on a frame.
Outdoors, it could be anything from a simple long wire to a purpose-made array of anything you like, in any shape or form.
My personal favourites are loop antennas for reception - my current broadcasting one is arranged around the indoor walls of my workshop, and is about 80ft long. I intend to put that one on the outside of the building and double the size. Otoh, a delta loop I built for 11m turns out to be an excellent AM and FM broadcast reception antenna - same with an inverted V dipole.

There's a ton of information on making reception antennas, just google it.

I'll be interested to see what you think of the Tecsun. I bought one a few years ago and it definitely improves AM reception. A couple of years ago I also bought this https://www.ebay.ie/itm/Tunable-Loop-Antenna-magically-fixes-AM-Radio-reception/170898543708?hash=item27ca58d45c:g:pL8AAMXQya1Q8mgD:rk:1:pf:0

Its even better than the Tecsun imo.
