    Hi all,

Just wondering are there any apps out there that are good to use, to be able to turn on and off wifi access to phones and tablets etc in the home?
i see lots that just let you see what devices are on your wifi and router etc.
    Thanks

I'm afraid you'll need to buy hardware to give you those sort of features. With this you can create a second virtual network with time schedules and bandwidth limits etc.
Ubiquiti Networks UAP-AC-LITE WLAN Access Point https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B016K4GQVG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_eGIWBbA3HYV85

Ubiquiti Amplifi HD router, can see who's connected, set rules, pause individual device access, and lots more

Google WiFi does the same thing, unbelievably simple app for it.

It's a bit locked out but it's great for what you want

    BTW it's IFTTT compatible.

So you can use connections as triggers for different things

So if a certain device connects to WiFi flash the Philips hue lamps etc.

What router do you have? It may have the features you want.
For example Eir's F2000 will let you set rules to pick what time of day devices on your network will be granted access and you can also limit their speed.
It's very basic though and someone who understands how to change their MAC address could get around it.
