What's Encoding channels??

Hi guys, Hoping somone can help. I've 4 channel NVR zxtech NVR running a couple of cameras perfectly. I've decided to add a camera, a Hiwatch IPC-T240H. Hi guys,

Running the Hik SADP utility, I see both my working cameras have encoding channels set to 1, but my Hiwatch IPC-T240H set to 0. It's the only difference I can see?? Does anyone know what going on here?
