Netflix won't cast.

    I've been watching Netflix with no problems for a year or more. I've just upgraded my Android phone and now the cast symbol won't appear on the phone screen.
    I've googled and checked everything, the Chromecast is fine, the network is fine, I csn see the movie on the phone no problem.
    I've checked Bluetooth, WiFi and signed out and in, no change.
    Any ideas what to try next? Thanks in advance!

    I'd first try clearing the cache for the Netflix App. If that didn't work, I'd reinstall Netflix. That is a bit of a nuclear option, but its all I can think of. (and usually works).

    Can you cast from other apps?

    I just checked with a YouTube video, no cast option on that app either....is that a clue?

    See can you bring up Google Home. I vaguely recall fixing a cast problem using that. But it wasn't a phone, it was an Android Tablet.

    Google home searched for the device (TV) but couldn't find it..

    I just switched on my previous phone (before I upgraded last week) and opened the Netflix app, it plays fibe but the cast icon isn't on there either.

    Reboot the Chromecast, that might fix it.

    You're likely on the wrong WLAN for the CC, force your WiFi to 2.4ghz only under wifi->advanced.

    Well...that did it! Switched off Chromecast, then phone then WiFi. Waited one minute, reconnected WiFi, then Chromecast, then phone (all above in that order btw as per Chromecast instructions).
    No change, but went back to it 5 minutes later...Yay! Cast icon on phone, movies playing!
