    Hi Guys,
The wipers/washer stick does not work when I try and squirt water (my mechanic said it wasn't the motor or pipework, that it was an electrical problem) Anyway was unable to fix the electrics, so he installed a new wire which now leads to a brass button on my dash which I now have to press to activate the washers.

Will this past the NCT test (Ireland)?
How will the tester know what the button is for?

Any advise would be greatly appreciated!!!!!

It will pass if they know that works, perhaps put a Post-It note near it or leave a note on the steering wheel.

Thanks Atlo, I will sellotape a "washers button here" to the dash beside the button but not sure what the NCT guy will make of that?

If it works then it’ll pass.

Could your mechanic not have fitted a simple push button, they’re cheap and would look better than a brass button in a modern car???
